Brad Edmondson
Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu under Tim Thielin
Brad started late, at age 30, after a long struggle with severe depression. He was heavily influenced early on by an instructor named Nate Wroblewski, who encouraged him to study the styles of Marcelo Garcia and Ryan Hall.
Training at a traditional Gracie gym, he became very knowledgeable about the self-defense aspects of jiujitsu. However, becoming increasingly interested in the sport and wanting to learn the best available techniques, he began attending seminars and cross-training with friends at 10th Planet Chicago.
Constantly working to stay current with advancements in the art, Brad’s focus is on jiujitsu as a whole—whether self-defense, sport, or MMA. He strives to simplify techniques to accelerate his students’ learning and uses jiujitsu as a vehicle for a better overall life and improved mental health by fostering a safe, positive training environment.
